Former Corrections Officer Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Danbury Inmate

Carlos Sanchez, formerly of Middlebury, was sentenced in Bridgeport district court to a term of 10 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a ward late last year.

U.S. Attorney John Durham said that Sanchez, 33, a former correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury engaged in sexual activity with a female inmate at the prison. On Dec. 10 last year, he pleaded guilty in district court.

Sanchez remains released on a $50,000 bond and was ordered to report to prison on May 21.
